Animal Hospital Receptionist
The Animal Hospital Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients and their pets. This role ensures a welcoming, professional, and compassionate environment while managing front-desk operations, client communications, and administrative support for the veterinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival and provide excellent customer service.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to client inquiries.
- Check in/out patients and process payments accurately.
- Maintain and update client and patient records in the hospital’s system.
- Communicate with veterinary staff regarding patient arrivals, emergencies, or special requests.
- Manage incoming/outgoing correspondence, including emails and voicemails.
- Assist with prescription refills and relay information between veterinarians and clients.
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support other administrative or clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
- Previous experience in customer service, receptionist, or veterinary/medical office setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, pet-friendly demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
