Donnie
Donnie

This is the Facebook post I shared 1 week after adoption Chase (aka Donnie). *Hello world! My name is Chase Sobrevilla. I am a labrador retriever cross, and I am almost 11 weeks old. I still have puppy breath and love giving love bites with my sharp little baby teeth.* *Thank you Mary Wong , Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue, and all the volunteers for all you do to find, rescue, rehabilitate, and home animals.* *Mom and dad met me last Friday night at the Office Depot Foundation Summer Internship Graduation, and decided to make theirs my forever home. <3* *Big brother Wilson came to the hospital to meet me, and whilst he gets cross with me sometimes when I take his toys, he is starting to share "his" humans with me more. I have learned not to bother him while he is eating too which helps. Yesterday, whilst coming home after our walk, he playfully challenged me to a race down the corridor. I think I am winning him over. My Savannah Sobrevilla human welcomed me with a squeal of delight and lots of loving cuddles. I was a big surprise for her.* *Mom and dad say I am a very clever pup, that I am learning very fast, and that I am going to grow into a BIIIIG dog one day. It's day three in clan Sobrevilla and I am walking well on a leash - I especially like following big brother Wilson and nibbling his tail and ears. I am being walked every hour and learning to do all my business outside on the grass. Mom gets especially excited when I poop outside.* *I am one of the lucky rescued animals that found a home. I am one of the lucky BLACK rescues that was chosen. My family pack was very shocked and saddened to learn how black animals are discriminated against, and how they tend to land up in the kill shelters more than any other animal. Mom says she chose me because I am so beautiful and black all over.* *Thank you for spreading this awareness of the plight of black animals auntyMary Wong and uncle Marc Colton.* *Mary, we are OVERJOYED with our fur-baby. He has given us so much love and so much joy! We cannot imagine home without him now! We look forward to you opening your all-black animal sanctuary Mary!* *Sadly, I learned of our beloved Mayo's (chocolate lab) passing today. My mom lay him down in front of the fireplace and petted him, while Dr. Sandy Hepburn-Brown helped him cross the rainbow bridge. It was time. We rescued him, and be recused us right back for 10 years. Mayo left us Sunday night, and Chase came into our lives Monday night. The most magical part? On the day we arrived home with Chase, we were greeted outside the elevator by a big chocolate lab that could have been Mayo they look so alike. Thank you Lord, angels, and synchronicity. Mayotjie was cremated and laid to rest with my boetie and all the other doggies. Thank you mama Whanadi Diddi Johnson . I appreciate you so much for how you have always honoured our animals.* *We love you Mayo and will miss you so much!* *Open your heart and adopt a black pet today!*

Artie
Artie

Hi! We adopted Artie/"Beckham" a few weeks ago from the Justin Bartlett animal rescue and couldn't be happier. He is an amazing dog! Our 4 year old son fell in love with him at the war memorial stadium animal fair last month and we ended up bringing him home that day. He and our 2 year old son love him so much. He is the perfect fit for our family.....very loving and cuddly with just the right amount of curiosity and playfulness. Beckham is adjusting well to his new life. He loves going for runs everyday and enjoys spending time at the dog park and lake. He gets along great with children and other dogs. He is even getting ready for his first family vacation in the keys next weekend! We are so happy to have rescued him and looks forward to creating memories with him in our family. Thank you so much for your help in our adoption. We would absolutely love to bring him in to visit one day. Kelly, Juan, Carlos, and Sebastian Bellu And Beckham too!!!

Faye
Faye

Faye is now Brandy... and she is awesome! Such a happy puppy. Brandy has adjusted just fine... we are still adjusting to a cute little ball of energy with razor sharp teeth!! She loves to play in or outside - loves racing around the back yard. She is doing well with the potty training.... only a few accidents, very comfortable in her crate. Thank you for allowing her to be part of our family. Tami

Halo
Halo

Hi Kathy It's been almost three months since we adopted Halo, though he has been renamed to Bebe Junior. He's been growing a lot and he's learned very quickly. He loves Sol and Luna, his big sisters, and particularly likes to sleep cuddled up with Sol. He loves to play, and then take a nap on our laps. He has certainly filled our home. We hope all his siblings and parents also got adopted. Continue with your great work. Every home should have the blessings of a pet.

Koby
Koby

I had put our 14 1/2 year old rat terrier down a year and a half ago, and had been contemplating bringing another dog into our home for a while. We visited three shelters without success. We then pulled up the JBAR web page and as we scrolled thru the many puppy pics, we came across one that literally "look at that face - had me from the first look". We drove to the adoption center, asked to see Koby, a pug & chihuahua mix - Chug, and with no hesitation, made him our "forever puppy". 🐾🐾🐾🐾
