Garson
Hello Kathy,
Shadow has learned so much and is growing so fast! He has learned to sit,
give paw, come, stay, up..he is fully house trained and growing bigger
every day!! I am so happy and thankful for this amazing opportunity to give
Shadow (Garson) a forever home!!
Golda
Just wanted to send an update to you. Alaska, a.k.a. Golda, is a wonderful
addition to our family. She and her brother, Meshu, play all day. Alaska
is full of energy and thinks she is a chicken hawk. She enjoys chasing our
chickens and eating their eggs. We love to watch her chase her tail. She's
managed to catch it and walks sideways through the house with her tail in
her mouth.
Gloria
It's been wonderful.
It's been more than I could have hoped for because of many reasons. One is that fact that Callie immediately bonded with Emma, my 2 year old Marked Merle Great Dane (Grey with Black Patches). Emma can not go anywhere without Callie by her side.
What is most remarkable is that Callie most likely saved Emma's life. Emma has a congenital swallowing disorder that made her susceptible to aspiration pneumonia. Shortly after Callie joined us, Emma became gravely ill. She had recovered from prior bouts of pneumonia (before we knew the reason for it) before Callie joined us and we thought we were in the clear.
After falling ill the 2nd time, Emma was in ICU, getting nebulizer treatments, antibiotic cocktails and all the like. After coming home, she needed to keep moving, keep the treatments and the meds. BUT the constant PLAY between Emma and Callie kept Emma's lungs clear. Emma is still with us, still thriving and still playing with Callie on a daily basis. Callie gets her up, running and coughing and helps keep her lungs clear.
Missy -- the elder stateswoman at 6 1/2 likes Callie too -- but nothing like the inseparable bond that exists between Emma and Callie.
I've attached a few pictures. Just figured you all would like to receive and update now and then.
Take care,
Jay, Missy, Emma and Callie (aka Gloria).
Gus
Hi Kathy,
Gus is doing Great!! He loves his new home, and enjoys playing with his tennis
ball. Gus loves going for rides in the car and taking walks. We LOVE our little
man and look forward to watching him grow up. Our Standard Poodle Savannah
crossed over the rainbow bridge 4 days before Christmas and we were devastated.
Finding Gus has brought so much joy to us and we can't thank you all enough.
Sincerely,
Jim, Gina & Gus

Gracie
Thanks for this link!. We changed her name a little because our last dog was Gracie.
She is adjusting well. Very loyal and loving to us. Housetrained and well behaved
for us.
I don't think she ever walked on a leash and we are working hard on that. Wants to
chase bikes, runners, some dogs. She gets better every day. I don't think she is
aggressive, I think she is afraid. More afraid of men than women. Once she knows
they are friends she is a marshmallow in their arms. She wants to please so we will
slowly fix the leash and fear problem with strangers.
Won't be long and she will be a laid back Keysie Dog!!
Thank you for our rescue, we feel that they rescue us too.
